In the first part, the participants learn about the 4K method. 4K (Cards for Kumu Contemporary Art) is a method developed by the Kumu Education Centre. It is based on questions that encourage discussion and help visitors connect with the artworks. Through discussion, it is possible to bring forward different opinions and analyse them. This method is easy to learn and use in teaching contemporary art to various age groups.
The second part of the workshop focuses on methods that help to find and create common ground among the participants, for example group work, sociometric exercises, open and directed discussion, work analysis, and VTS. These methods help to create a sense of belonging and focus on similarities rather than differences.
