On February 16th, Tensta konsthall is having a roundtable discussion about the future of public meeting places in Tensta neighbourhood following a purchase of Tensta gymnasium and citizen house/meeting venue Tensta Träff by a real estate company Hemsö.
The event has been planned in collaboration with artist Apolonija Sustersic, the Swedish team of art mediators, and the Tensta konsthall team. The discussion will revolve around the responsibility of the real estate company – what happens now? It is possible to use Tensta Träff in a way that would allow the local inhabitants to have access to it again? How does one set up a framework for the activity of the venue?
Art mediators will lead a workshop on the future of public places, helping people develop concrete proposals. George Chamoun and Paulina Sokolow from Tensta konsthall will be moderating the discussion.
The CEO of the real estate company is invited to join the discussion, along with Swedish politicians, people from different grassroots initiatives, and local associations from Tensta and neighbouring suburbs.
