The winners of the Estonian Museum Annual Awards in nine categories were announced on the 28th of January. The Tallinn Russian Museum won a “Community Friend Award” for their participatory project “The Museum Laboratory”.
The aim of the Estonian Museum Annual Awards is to recognize the best museum practices and highlight the various aspects of the museum work to the public.
The prizes are awarded by the Museum Council of the Ministry of Culture and the Estonian Museum Association in cooperation with the Ministry of Culture and the National Heritage Board. Each award includes a scholarship funded by the Cultural Endowment of Estonia.
This year, three museums were competing for the title of “Community Friend”: Tallinn Russian Museum, Estonian Dairy Museum, and Juhan Liiv Museum.
